Introducing Protein Kinetics: Speed is the name of the game
In this video you will get an introduction to protein kinetics. You will discover the core concept, uncover its importance in protein source selection, and explore the advantages for your animals. - Swine PoultryProtein Kinetics
Why do we use pH-stat to measure protein kinetics?
We have decided to use the pH-stat method in collaboration with Aarhus University as this is a real kinetic technique allowing you to measure progress of protein hydrolysis instead of only focusing on the extent of protein hydrolysis. It is a scientific well established and recognized method and we use the method as essentially described and published by scientists from Wageningen University. The method has been well described and used in literature to evaluate protein hydrolysis for different raw materials and product types. It is a reliable and simple method, and results obtained by pH-stat are found to correlate well with other in-vitro methods. - Swine Poultry Ruminants Pet Aqua
What are ANF's and why do we talk about them so much?
Among several common protein sources, soybean meal (SBM) is universally accepted as the source of plant-based protein that contains all the essential amino acids necessary to animal growth and development par excellence. However, SBM also contains certain ANF’s that may compromise animal performance and health when they reach high levels in diets for young animals. The most damaging factors of SBM are trypsin inhibitors, galacto-oligosaccharides, and the antigen beta-conglycinin. ANF’s are just one of the multiple obstacles production animals face in early stages of life, but at Hamlet Protein we can give them a helping hand.
